III International Student Research Conference Symposium
On June 12th, the British International School of Georgia (BIST) and the British-Georgian Academy (BGA) came together once again to host the third International Student Research Conference Symposium @ Lisi Lake. The event provided an exciting platform for eight exceptional students, carefully selected by an international committee from over 30 applicants across private and public schools, to present their independent research projects.
This year’s symposium featured five dynamic panels spanning Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, Mathematics & Computing, and Creative & Visual Arts. Topics ranged widely, demonstrating the breadth of student curiosity and academic dedication.

Highlights included:
- Humanities & Social Sciences: Engaging lectures on the political impact of social media algorithms, cultural norms shaping behavior, architectural identity in a globalized world, and the challenging question of AI’s ability to understand art.
- STEM: Insightful research into human impact on soil biodiversity in mountainous regions and a critical ethical analysis of facial recognition technologies.
- Creative Arts: A thought-provoking exhibition showcasing original artworks that explored feminist narratives, the human experience of war, spiritual reflections, and the urban emotional landscape shaped by Brutalist architecture.
The symposium was complemented by an afternoon exhibition of creative artworks from panelists, adding a vibrant and emotional dimension to the event.
The III International Student Research Conference Symposium @ Lisi Lake continues to build on the strong tradition of fostering intellectual exploration and cross-disciplinary dialogue among Georgian students aged 14 to 18. We congratulate all participants for their impressive research, insightful presentations, and meaningful contributions to this inspiring event.
We look forward to next year’s symposium and the continued growth of student-led inquiry and creativity.
