International Award

International Award

BIST is proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, a globally recognised framework for non-formal education. It challenges young people to dream big, to celebrate their achievements and to make a difference in their world.

The programme has three progressive levels which, if successfully completed, lead to the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

Requirements

Participants get involved in a wide range of activities centred around their own passions and interests. This includes:

  • Volunteering: Taking part in voluntary services in their communities
  • Physical: Practising regular physical recreation
  • Skills: Developing skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives
  • Expedition: Completing Adventurous Journeys that enable them to discover their own potential

Benefits

The Award has many positive impacts, including increased employability and improved wellbeing, as well as countless benefits in terms of individual growth. Students build self-confidence and learn new skills while developing a sense of global citizenship.

At BIST, we believe that the Award is a fantastic opportunity to help our students become truly world-ready individuals.
