Celebrating Resilience: BIST’s Annual Secondary Awards Evening
Last Wednesday, we came together to celebrate the remarkable success and achievements of our students during the 2022-23 academic year at our annual Secondary Awards Evening.
The evening kicked off on a musical note with our school band performing “Caravan of Love.” Our band added musical flair to the event and awards, the symbol of our commitment to excellence, were given to those who exhibited exemplary academic prowess, a deep-seated commitment to community service, and exceptional accomplishments that warranted special recognition.
The theme of the evening was “resilience,” a core value embedded within our BIST Learning Goals. Our senior students and staff delivered inspiring speeches and poems that beautifully echoed this theme, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and determination in the face of challenges.
The highlight of the evening was the recognition of our outstanding students. Awards were presented for attainment and progress from each faculty for every year group. We also celebrated students’ dedication to community service and presented several special awards.
Among the notable achievements, Lucas and Salome from Year 13, along with Adam from last year’s Year 13, received their COBIS Student Award certificates for their exceptional contributions to the school and the wider community.
Maksymilian in Year 13 received the AS Level Achievement award, and the A Level Achievement Award was bestowed upon Eren, who is currently studying at the prestigious French university Sciences Po. Eren’s proud mother collected the award on his behalf.
At BIST, we take immense pride in our students’ accomplishments and their commitment to embodying the values we hold dear. The Secondary Awards Evening was a momentous occasion to celebrate their dedication and resilience, setting the stage for a future filled with continued success.
